This unit of study is designed for nurses working in the audiometry setting. The focus of this unit of study is on integration of theory to practice and the competencies required to work as an audiometry nurse. Concepts covered includes communication, professional standards, patient education and hearing promotion. This unit of study involves the completion of 90 theoretical hours in the DE mode and 60 hours of clinical practice.

Clinical Placement Information

There is a compulsory 60 hours clinical placement for this unit of study. Each state and territory has its own documentation requirements. Any costs associated with clinical placement including obtaining the correct documentation, uniform and travel costs are the student’s responsibility.
