Developing nursing practice

Advanced nursing practice requires not only an understanding of specialist or generalist clinical nursing knowledge but also broader notions of professional practice, health policy and research. This unit of study explores the notion of advanced nursing practice within the context of the health care system, the clinical practice domain and the nursing profession. Its purpose is to challenge registered nurses to identify their position in the health care profession, discuss their practice environment and identify the professional development of themselves and of others.
