Meet Katie McKenzie, Executive Director of Nursing

As Executive Director of Nursing Services, Katie’s role is to provide professional leadership to achieve high standards of nursing practice within Perth Children’s Hospital and across the Child & Adolescent Health Service. Katie’s role extends to promoting and supporting a positive culture amongst nursing staff and ensuring that patient-centred care is delivered. Katie has extensive experience across a range of senior nursing roles, most recently as A/Director of Nursing & Patient Support Services within the Royal Perth Bentley Group and before that as a Service Nursing Director at Royal Perth Hospital.

She has also worked in Canberra, as A/Director of Nursing and Midwifery for the Centenary Hospital for Women, Youth and Children within Canberra Hospital and Health Services and as Assistant Director of Nursing, Canberra Hospital and Health Services.

Katie has spent some time working as a Project Director in Child and Adolescent Community Health prior to commencing at Royal Perth Hospital. She also started her career in nursing as a graduate at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Katie is passionate about nursing and contributing to a passionate, proud & essential profession. Katie is also passionate about her children, her family and her dog.
