The Assistant Minister for Rural Health, Dr David Gillespie has announced interim health workforce scholarship arrangements for the 2017 study year.
A limited round of nursing and allied health scholarships, covering a 12 month period, will be offered for 2017 through the existing scholarship administrators – the Australian College of Nursing, and Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health. Applications for nursing and midwifery scholarships administered by the Australian College of Nursing will open in February, for study in 2017. Further updates on the types of scholarships to be offered and opening dates will be provided via this web page.
The NAHSSS program has been operating since 2011 and administered by the Australian College of Nursing (ACN). The aim of the scheme has been to grow the health workforce and improve the professional knowledge of the nursing profession by providing scholarships to financially support students, nurses and midwives while they undertake study.
