Community Integration Program (CIP) Clinician, Marrmak
- Part-time (0.5FTE), ongoing position
- Based at Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in Melbourne’s west
- Multidisciplinary role (Nursing RPN4, Social Worker Grade 3, Occupational Therapist Grade 3, Psychologist Grade 3).
Forensicare provides specialist mental health services at Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in the Marrmak Unit, a 20-bed residential program for women prisoners with an intensive outreach program and a therapeutic day program.
About the role:
The Community Integration (CIP) program provides identified patients with a serious mental illness leaving Marrmak with short-term mental health support, and assistance in linking with external services. The focus is on re-connecting the patient with their local Area Mental Health Service (AMHS).
The CIP Clinician ensures the identified patients receive appropriate mental health care upon their release and are appropriately linked with other supports. The CIP Clinician works collaboratively with prison operators and also provides support and education to patient’s family and carer supports.
You have significant experience as a nurse, social worker occupational therapist or psychologist working in mental health. You have the ability to engage productively with a range of internal and external stakeholders and the capacity to lead, supervise and train a multidisciplinary team within a complex environment.
Mandatory qualifications & registrations:
Approved qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy or psychology and current registration with AHPRA where relevant. Social Workers must be eligible for membership with the AASW.
