Nurse Unit Manager (Acute Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit)

The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring effective accountability of business performance and professional standards of practice for a multi-disciplinary team within the Unit which consists 35 low dependency beds and 8 high dependency beds. The position works in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Consultants and acts as a central point of accountability reporting to the Program Manager / Nursing Director.
You will have a comprehensive understanding of mental health services delivery in Adult Mental Health Services, including utilisation of the Mental Health Act (or relevant legislation) and the ability to provide high level clinical advice and support to staff. Proven ability to lead a diverse group of nursing professionals. Proven ability to develop a professional infrastructure linked to the Townsville HHS Nursing Executive to support the ongoing development and growth of the associated disciplines in Mental Health.
Mandatory Role Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing
- Credentialed status with the ACMHN
- Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016.
Generous remuneration package value up to $140,711 p.a. comprising salary range of $4341.20 to $4713.20 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation.
