Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital, located in Fairfield just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne CBD.
Thomas Embling Hospital is a 124-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care services.
About the role:
The Unit Manager is responsible for providing high level management and direction for the overall development of the unit, including planning, resourcing and overseeing the delivery of multi-disciplinary services. This position engages with other managers and service providers across Justice Health, Forensicare and custodial and program staff to improve and maintain the unit and service’s management, clinical, educational and support activities.
You have significant experience and knowledge in contemporary forensic mental health nursing practices and relevant legislation, as well as a good understanding of managing financial and human resources within a nursing unit. You have people management and leadership capability with the skills to develop, manage and motivate a team.
