Public Health Nurse (Indigenous Sexual Health)

This role will provide sexual public health support to clinicians and clinical services in the Townsville, Mackay and North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) geographical areas. The position will work with broader teams to contribute to the goals of the North Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sexually Transmissible Infections Action Plan 2016-2021. The plan aims to provide an effective and coordinated response to syphilis and other STIs amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Salary range of $4341.30 to $4713.20 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7), 17.5% leave loading, 12.5 % employer contribution to superannuation. - Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Authorisation as an Immunisation Program Nurse to practice under the provisions of the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996.
- Appointed as, or prepared to undertake training to be appointed as, a Contact Tracing Officer under the Public Health Act 2005.
