Nurses at Ravenhall deliver care within a custodial mental health bed-based setting, practicing within a recovery framework and use sound judgement to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and maintain a high standard of patient care.
As a Grade 2 or Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurse you will provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will consult and collaborate with staff, carers and relevant agencies to provide the best and most appropriate care to support and enhance recovery.
You have a commitment to mental health consumer recovery and the ability to undertake comprehensive nursing assessments of mentally ill patients, and to plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions. You enjoy the challenges of a working in a complex environment and can engage constructively and positively with a range of stakeholders.
Mandatory qualifications & registrations:
- Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA)
Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. Completed in 2017, the new medium-security men’s prison is located in Ravenhall in Melbourne’s west, providing world-class forensic mental health services in Victoria in a purpose-built state of the art facility developed to international best practice standards.
