This unit of study is designed for registered nurses working in a variety of orthopaedic environments. It addresses contemporary professional issues facing the orthopaedic nurse in a changing health care environment. The unit of study promotes new ways of thinking and learning and addresses such issues as: the role of the nurse in the health care system, leadership and knowledge sharing, communication skills and change management. Evidence-based practice and research is explored to promote clinical practice and improve patient outcomes Students must be working in an orthopaedic environment.
