EXPO AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE NURSING AS A CAREER
Around 2000 visitors are expected to pack the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre this weekend for the ACN Nursing and Health Expo Perth 2017.
Following on from last year’s success, the free expo aims to connect visitors with a range of organisations including hospitals, educational institutions, health care services and specialty nursing groups.
Appealing to practicing nurses, nursing students or high school students interested in pursuing a career in nursing, the expo will allow visitors to find out about:
The difference between nurses and midwives
What nurses and midwives really do
Entry requirements and alternative entry pathways
Courses available to become a nurse or midwife
Employment prospects and opportunities including presentations on how to apply using
GradConnect
Pay rates and working conditions
The GREAT Work Experience Program for Year 10 students
The range of specialties, hospitals and health services nurses and midwives can work in
“Nurses are the backbone of the Australian health care system. Nursing is an extremely diverse and rewarding career with a number of entry pathways,” ACN CEO, Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward said.
“Do not miss this fantastic opportunity to engage with the nursing profession and connect with industry leaders here in WA. Come along with questions, an open mind and realise the endless possibilities that a nursing career offers,” Adjunct Professor Ward said.
Visitors can gain practical take-home advice and skills from a range of educational seminars covering CV and interview skills, rural and remote employment opportunities, choosing a career in mental health and graduate opportunities.
The ACN Nursing and Health Expo Perth 2017 is being hosted by the Australian College of Nursing and is proudly supported by the Nursing and Midwifery Office of WA Health.
