The Australian College of Nursing congratulates Victorian Public Healthcare Awards winners
The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) warmly congratulates the winners of the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards. The Victorian Public Healthcare Awards are an annual acknowledgement of excellence, dedication and innovation in public health, health services and service initiatives that deliver informed and effective healthcare.

The 2016 Awards reflect priority areas in healthcare identified by the Victorian government and focus on the sectors’ ability to drive change and improve health outcomes for all Victorians. The Awards recognise leadership and excellence in the provision of publicly-funded healthcare for the Victorian community, and include Victoria’s most prestigious accolade – the Premier’s Health Service of the Year Awards.

ACN CEO Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN said, “On behalf of all Australian College of Nursing Fellows, Members and staff, I extend whole-hearted congratulations to the winners of the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards. These Awards are an outstanding honour and recognise the invaluable contribution made to the health care sector and the community. I would also like to congratulate all of this year’s finalists because they are all exceptional organisations and individuals providing outstanding levels of care and service to the community.”

Adjunct Professor Ward said, “What I am particularly proud of is the phenomenal calibre of our nurse leaders who play instrumental roles in healthcare organisations represented at the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards and strive for excellence every day as part of their role. The health care sector is changing rapidly and it is nurse leaders who are essential in advocating for health care reform. The Australian College of Nursing will continue to provide leadership opportunities for nurses to excel in their roles and seek out opportunities to engage with governments to ensure nurses are at decision-making tables.”
