Network with like-minded people

ACN conducts a range of major events and conferences focused on nursing practice, professional aspects and clinical education.

Through participation in an ACN event, nurses are empowered to expand their scope of skills, network with like-minded professionals and be involved in influencing and shaping the profession and its practice.

Our signature event is the National Nursing Forum, an annual conference bringing together nurses, students and other health professionals both nationally and internationally. Members are eligible for discounted registration fees for many ACN events on offer.

ACN National Nurses Breakfast

The ACN National Nurses Breakfast is hosted each year in celebration of International Nurses Day on 12 May.

Traditionally the campaign saw nurses and their supporters hosting a breakfast or get-together at their workplace, university or community centre to celebrate International Nurses Day. This year, taking into consideration restrictions that have arisen through the COVID-19 pandemic, we encouraged nurses to take time out for themselves during International Nurses Day week and treat themselves to a self-care breakfast.

Thank you to nurses all over Australia who joined in a virtual breakfast to celebrate all things wonderful about our profession. Throughout 2020 Year of the Nurse & Midwife let’s continue to highlight the crucial contribution our profession makes to our local communities!

Nursing Now roadshows

In September 2015 the nations of the world signed up to the ambitious goal of ensuring that everyone in the world should have access to health care — universal health coverage — and that nobody should be left behind. The Triple Impact Report by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Global Health, makes the point that UHC cannot possibly be achieved without strengthening nursing globally. This is partly about increasing the number of nurses, but also crucially about making sure their contribution is properly understood and enabling them to work to their full potential.

Through our panel of speakers this event will facilitate discussion and debate regarding the future of healthcare in Australia through the lens of the Triple Impact Report.
