Overview
A proactive, evidence-based approach should be taken for all individuals with wounds to minimise the risk of infection, promote healing and optimise outcomes. This microcredential aims to facilitate the development of knowledge and skills in wound management by utilising a principles-based approach and aligning with guidelines and standards.
This microcredential is the third and final in a series of three corresponding to the unit of study 050 Wound Management.

Applicable to all registered nurses who want to expand their knowledge and skills in all nursing fields.

This microcredential is the third and final in a series of three. Completing all three microcredentials in the series allows you to apply for credit towards unit 050 Wound Management (6 credit points) and build towards a full Graduate Certificate in Acute Care Nursing, Aged Care Nursing, Community and Primary Health Nursing, Orthopaedic Nursing, Palliative Care Nursing or Stomal Therapy Nursing at ACN.

Sharron coordinates our Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing. She began her nursing career in the United Kingdom where she worked in primarily in the field of women’s health, both in an acute gynaecological setting and in primary health as a qualified family planning nurse. Sharron has several years of experience within the perioperative setting, mainly in anaesthetics and recovery. She also has extensive experience in the day surgery environment. Sharron has 30 years of nursing experience and sees nursing as not only a science but also an art, with compassion, humanity and empathy at its core.
