The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) sends its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Victorian surgeon Dr Patrick Pritzwald-Stegmann, who died today following an alleged one-punch attack at work.
“It is with great sadness that today we learned of the passing of a fine doctor, husband and father,” ACN Chief Executive Officer, Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN, said.
“Every professional working within the healthcare industry – whether they are doctors or nurses, administration staff or security guards – deserves the right to be able to go to a safe workplace and return home to their loved ones at the end of a shift.
“Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with Dr Pritzwald-Stegmann’s family and friends as well as his colleagues at Box Hill Hospital.”
Dr Pritzwald-Stegmann died several weeks after he was allegedly punched in the head in the foyer of Box Hill Hospital.
