The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) commends the ACT Government for announcing its fifth nurse-led walk-in clinic for the ACT to be opened in Dickson.
“Nurse-led clinics are a beneficial initiative that provide an invaluable service to the community,” said Australian College of Nursing CEO Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN. “It is encouraging to see the immense skills and experience of Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Practice Nurses being well-utilised for residents across the Canberra region.
“Our highly capable nursing profession offers significant benefits to patients as the pressure on emergency departments increases. Nurse-led clinics are sought after by patients for access to free high-quality health care that is delivered in a timely manner.
“ACN will continue to support and advocate for similar patient-centred nurse-led initiatives across Australia.”
