Overview
Our OSCE Preparation for Objective Structured Clinical Examination program is designed to help prepare Internationally Qualified Registered Nurses (IQRNs) to achieve success when undertaking the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
IQRNs are required to complete the OSCE in order to apply for registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in Australia.
You’ll study full-time for two weeks in small classes at our Sydney campus, ensuring personalised learning and extensive clinical practice.

Entry requirements
- Be an Internationally Qualified Registered Nurse (IQRN).
- Have successfully completed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and be able to prove they have already passed the NCLEX-RN.

Frequently asked questions
The Preparation for Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) prepares Internationally Qualified Registered Nurses (IQRN) to undertake the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) OSCE.
Candidates who have successfully completed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) are eligible to enrol in this program.
The program is conducted over a two-week period face-to-face at our Parramatta campus.
- Prepare the participants to meet the assessment requirements for OSCE
- Work with high-tech manikins to perform common clinical skills performed by registered nurses in Australia
- Scenario-based simulations to practice critical thinking, Reflective practice, planning and implementation of safe, holistic, person-centred care
- Participate in mock OSCE assessments
- Gives an opportunity to get familiar with the format of the actual OSCE
- Prepares the participants to build upon their previous knowledge and skills and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and competence required of a graduate-level nurse in Australia
- Well-developed simulation scenarios allow the participants to practice in a safe environment under the supervision of experienced facilitators
- The simulation scenarios are carefully developed to reflect real-life situations from various clinical settings
- Prepares the participants to meet the assessment requirements for OSCE

Applicants must hold an appropriate visa that meets study condition requirements.

Suman is responsible for coordinating our Graduate Certificate in Nursing (Re-entry), Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care and preparation for the OSCE program.
She has over 20 years of teaching experience in higher education and the VET sector and has a keen interest in exploring the transition of practitioners into contemporary Australian nursing practice. Suman’s clinical experience includes acute, community and aged care nursing, midwifery practice, and working in regulations. In addition to facilitating student learning, Suman is passionate about curriculum development and delivering quality education.

Ran is coordinating the Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Nursing in ACN. Ran has over 5 years of tertiary education experience in VET sector and higher education in Australia. She has extensive experience in providing lectures and tutorials to nursing students to promote learning. She has worked as a registered nurse in various clinical settings in Australia public hospitals for over 7 years. With a great passion in teaching and guiding, she continues to contribute towards training and supervision of workplace assessors and professional development programs.
