The initiative, which is patroned by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, works to empower nurses to take their place at the heart of tackling 21st Century health challenges. Head to the Nursing Now website to find out more.

Nursing Now Australia launch

Over 80 countries around the world have already come together to participate in Nursing Now. ACN is proud to be the lead organisation for the Nursing Now Australia campaign in partnership with the major nursing organisations in Australia. The Nursing Now Australia campaign was launched officially on 9 April 2019.

Nightingale Challenge 2020

Nursing Now has launched the Nightingale Challenge which aims to have at least 20,000 young nurses and midwives, aged 35 or under, benefiting from leadership and development training in 2020, which marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale and has been officially declared as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife by the World Health Organization.

The Nightingale Challenge is calling on large employers of nurses globally to provide leadership and development training for 20 young nurses and midwives in 2020. This will give young nurses the skills they need to play an even more influential role in global health.

To find out more about the challenge download the Nightingale Challenge brochure or head to the Nursing Now website.

Nursing Now Australia Challenge

ACN and the other major nursing organisations in Australia created the Nursing Now Australia Challenge Calendar to support the objectives of the Nursing Now campaign and count down to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale on 12 May 2020.

From May 2019 to May 2020 nurses around the country participated in monthly challenges to raise the status and profile of nursing.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this important initiative and congratulations to our winners.

The competition has now closed but you can still check out the Nursing Now Australia Challenge Calendar to gain inspiration to make a difference.
