Principles of Emergency Care for Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing (PEC EN)

This course is designed for ENs working in all clinical areas across a variety of health care facilities. It equips ENs with the knowledge underpinning the skills needed in order to render first-line emergency care of acutely ill patients in the clinical setting. This course aims to integrate theory into clinical practice, enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and improve confidence in decision-making when providing care to patients during emergency situations.

Principles of Emergency Care for Registered Nurses (PEC RN)

This course is designed for RNs working in any clinical setting in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote areas. It equips RNs with the knowledge underpinning the skills needed in order to render first-line emergency care in emergency/critical situations. This subject aims to enhance nurses’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and their confidence in decision-making when providing care to patients during emergency situations.

Immunisation: Tuberculosis Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) (NSW only)

This course is designed for registered nurses who are required to perform Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccinations (BCG) as part of their roles. The purpose of the course is to provide you with a theoretical framework you can use in your clinical practice when you are required to administer, discuss after-care and document BCG vaccinations. Completion of the theoretical component and a clinical skills assessment will authorise you to administer this vaccination without the direction of a medical officer within NSW.

Immunisation: Tuberculosis Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) (NSW only)

This course is designed for registered nurses who are required to perform Tuberculin Skin Tests (TSTs) at part of their roles. The purpose of the course is to provide you with a theoretical framework that you can use in your clinical practice when you administer, read, interpret and document TST. At the completion of the course you will be able to demonstrate practical and theoretical competency.
